10 Wish List Whiskies to buy in 2026

There has never been a better time to be a whisky drinker.

From Scotch whisky and independent bottlings to Bourbon staples and English whisky, these are some of the 10 bottles I want to buy. Check out the video for more.

Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask 8 Year Old

The bottle that inspired this list is the Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask 8 Year Old.

At 54% ABV, this Lowland Scotch is naturally presented and lightly peated. The sample I tried was dangerously good, and it could easily sit among my favourite releases from the distillery. The peat isn’t hugely smoky but helps round out the whisky flavours. At around £59, it isn’t cheap, but it’s firmly on my Scotch whisky wishlist.

Jura 12 Year Old Oloroso Edition

I have spoken a lot about Jura’s new 12 Year Old but this Jura 12 Year Old Oloroso Edition seems another promising step up.

Bottled at 46% ABV with no added colouring or chill filtration, it is matured in ex-bourbon before being finished in American and European oak Oloroso sherry hogsheads and PX casks. At around £50, it isn’t exactly a bargain, but for whisky enthusiasts looking for a more traditionally presented Jura, it’s one to watch.

Woodrow’s Jane Street Original One

Independent Bottlers Woodrow’s of Edinburgh are no pish!

The Original One, rumored to be Glencadam, is bottled at 48.5% and naturally presented. From the smallest sip and being blown away by the Woodrow’s Smokey One, this an independent whisky brand worth watching.

Glengoyne White Oak

Glengoyne was my first Scotch Distillery visit, so I have a soft spot saved on the shelf for a bottle.

The Glengoyne White Oak has particularly caught my eye because it moves away from the heavily sherried style often associated with the distillery. Instead it is ex bourbon and virgin oak with a natural presentation and a solid 48% ABV.

Signatory Craigellachie 16 Year Old

Possibly the biggest bargain on the list is the Craigellachie 16 Year Old from Signatory’s Un-Chillfiltered Collection.

At 46% ABV, naturally presented and originally released at around £46! It was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and has disappeared from many retailers. The hunt is on.

Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old

The Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old is one of the releases I think may have gone slightly under the radar.

An 11 year old core release, 46% abv, no added colour and no chill filtration, and there is plenty here for whisky enthusiasts to get excited about.

It’s lightly peated and matured in approximately 80% bourbon and 20% Oloroso sherry casks which just sounds amazing.
