Is Springbank Worth the Hype? Springbank 10 Review
Springbank 10 Year Old is one of the most talked about whiskies in the Scotch world, and for good reason. But dare I say how I really feel about this distillery?
Springbank 10 Year Old is one of the most talked about whiskies in the Scotch world, and for good reason. But dare I say how I really feel about this distillery?
Hailing from the legendary Campbeltown distillery, Springbank has built a cult following thanks to its traditional methods, full in-house production, and refusal to play the typical marketing game. Non-chill filtered, natural colour, and bottled at 46%, Springbank 10 offers a bold, funky, coastal dram that feels crafted and full of heritage. But with prices creeping up and availability vanishing into a haze of auctions and flipping, the question has to be asked: is Springbank 10 still worth the hype?
In this video, I explore why I respect Springbank, but don’t worship it. I break down the mythos, the scarcity frenzy, and the actual flavour of Springbank 10 compared to similarly aged Scotch whiskies like Ledaig 10, Arran 10, Ben Nevis 10, and Ardbeg 10. We’ll talk marketing (or lack of), the indie band aura Springbank carries, and whether its legendary status is driven more by rarity than taste.
It’s not a hit piece it’s an honest take on one of Scotland’s most iconic and elusive single malts. Grab a dram, join me.
