If you are looking for one of the best value Scotch whiskies you can buy in 2026, I genuinely think I have found it.
In this video, I review the Symington 10 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky from Signatory Vintage and why it has become one of my favourite whisky releases of the year. This is honest, affordable and high quality Scotch whisky that reminds me why I fell in love with whisky in the first place.
The Symington 10 Year Old is bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour and non chill filtration. It also comes with a proper 10 year age statement. These are the things I always look for when buying whisky, yet this bottle costs around £30. In my opinion, it offers better value than many supermarket blends and even competes with whiskies that cost twice as much.
In the full video, I explore the story behind the bottle and why Andrew Symington of Signatory Vintage decided to create a blended Scotch whisky. Blending whisky is one of the hardest jobs in the industry. It takes skill, patience and experience to create a whisky that is balanced and consistent. I also look at how this blend came together using mature North British grain whisky alongside Edradour, PX cask matured Ben Nevis and other undisclosed whiskies. With around 50 percent malt whisky in the recipe and maturation in first fill bourbon and sherry casks, it delivers far more than its price suggests.
On the nose I find soft toffee, Ferrero Rocher chocolate, apple pie, vanilla ice cream, cherries, Christmas cake, malt loaf and rich dried fruits. It smells comforting, festive and incredibly inviting without ever becoming heavy.
The palate is where this whisky really surprised me. I pick up oily texture, cola cube sweets, orange marmalade, honey, strawberries, mint and gentle sherry flavours. There is also a subtle grain character that adds extra depth and complexity while keeping everything beautifully balanced. The finish is smooth, warming and incredibly satisfying, making this a whisky I keep reaching for.
I also compare the Symington 10 Year Old with whiskies such as Naked Malt, Edradour 10 Year Old, Turntable Bittersweet Sympathy, Dalmore and Macallan. I explain where I think this bottle stands against the competition and why I believe it is one of the best value Scotch whiskies on the shelves today.
